My coverage of SailGP Portsmouth marked my first opportunity to photograph a SailGP event as an accredited photojournalist. Covering one of the world's most exciting sailing championships was a major milestone in my career as a professional sailing photographer.
Photographing the iconic F50 catamarans at close range was unlike any sailing event I had covered before. With boats foiling at incredible speeds, split-second tactical decisions and constantly changing conditions, the event demanded anticipation, precision and a deep understanding of the sport. Capturing these moments challenged me both technically and creatively, resulting in a collection of images that reflect the speed, intensity and atmosphere of Emirates SailGP.
Beyond the racing, SailGP Portsmouth provided the opportunity to meet sailors, media professionals and fellow photographers from around the world. The experience offered valuable insight into the fast-paced environment of international sports photography while reinforcing my passion for documenting elite sailing competitions.
